Clinical philosophy
In 15+ years as a board-certified internal medicine physician, I kept seeing the same thing: patients doing everything right for their health — joining a gym, losing the weight, getting their blood pressure and blood sugar under control — and paying for all of it with after-tax dollars, while thousands sat unused in their HSA and FSA accounts. The tax code (IRC §213(d)) already lets those accounts cover a gym membership, equipment, and other wellness costs when a physician documents them as treatment for a diagnosed condition. The only thing between most people and that benefit is one piece of paper — a Letter of Medical Necessity — that almost no one knows how to get. I built MedSlip to close that gap: a real, individualized physician review that turns the healthy spending you're already doing into the pre-tax medical care the law already allows. No waiting rooms, no upsells — just honest documentation, issued under my own name, NPI, and license.
