MedSlip service policies
MedSlip is a brand operated by SickSlip, Inc. (technology and administrative services), with all clinical review and medical documentation provided by SickSlip P.A. These policies supplement and are subject to our Terms of Service.
Eligibility
- You must be located in a state where our physician holds an active medical license.
- MedSlip issues Letters of Medical Necessity documenting that an expense — such as a gym membership — is medically necessary to treat a qualifying condition (for example, obesity, overweight, high blood pressure, prediabetes or type-2 diabetes, high cholesterol, joint pain or arthritis, chronic back pain, depression, or sleep disturbance).
- A Letter of Medical Necessity is issued only when a board-certified physician determines, after individualized review, that the expense is medically appropriate for your condition. Letters are not guaranteed.
- We do not issue letters for expenses that are not medically necessary, for conditions outside our physician's scope, or where the requested item would be clinically inappropriate.
Letter Corrections
After your letter has been issued and delivered, you may request a correction under the following conditions:
- Correction requests must be submitted within 72 hours of purchase.
- We can correct your name, date of birth, or the item described on the letter.
- A materially different diagnosis or item may require a new physician review.
- Corrections are reviewed by the physician and are subject to clinical discretion.
- There is no additional charge for approved corrections.
Requests that fall outside these guidelines will be denied. If your request is denied, you will receive an email explaining the reason.
Refund Policy
- 100% automatic refund if our physician declines to issue your letter after review.
- If your FSA or HSA plan administrator declines to reimburse an issued letter, refunds are reviewed case-by-case and require documentation of the denial. Use the “Request a refund” option in your dashboard and we will email you the next steps.
- Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of purchase.
- Plan-administrator acceptance is at their discretion. We provide documentation that meets the IRC §213(d) standard, but we cannot guarantee that a specific administrator will reimburse any third-party letter.
- We do not offer refunds for buyer's remorse, duplicate purchases made in error (contact support for resolution), or letters that have already been issued and delivered, except as described above.
Pricing
- Letter of Medical Necessity: $40, one-time.
- Priority review (optional): +$6.99.
- No subscriptions, no hidden fees, no automatic charges.
- Your letter is valid for 12 months; renewing it each year is optional and separately purchased.
- Promo codes, when available, are applied at checkout.
Account & Access
- After your letter is issued, you will receive an email with a link to create your account and download it.
- Your signed PDF is available for download from your dashboard at any time.
- If you are locked out of your account, contact support@medslip.co and we will send a sign-in link.
- Account data is retained in accordance with our data retention practices. Medical records required by law may be retained longer as required by applicable state and federal regulations.
Verification
- Every letter includes a unique Document ID and QR code.
- Your FSA or HSA plan administrator can verify a letter’s authenticity at medslip.co/verify or by scanning the QR code.
- Verification confirms the letter was issued by a licensed physician but does not disclose any patient health information.
Fraudulent Use
MedSlip reserves the right to deny service, refuse corrections, and withhold refunds if we determine in good faith that a request is fraudulent, involves fabricated or exaggerated information, or is intended to deceive a plan administrator or any other party. Accounts associated with fraudulent activity may be permanently suspended.
